What happens During Surgery?
The operation usually takes about 90 minutes.
A general anesthetic will be administered before the operation commences.
An incision will be made along the areola (the pigmented area encircling the nipple) and vertically below it. Subsequently, excess breast tissue, fat, and skin will be removed.
For individuals with larger breasts, there may also be a need to create an incision along the inframammary fold, resulting in an anchor-shaped scar.
How long will I stay in hospital?
You should be able to go home the next day.
What is my recovery time?
You should be able to return to normal activities after 2 to 3 weeks. You should be able to return to light work after a week. Recommend doing regular light exercises as soon as possible, such as walking to speed up your recovery. The results will improve gradually over time.
